Build and Kill Zombies Weapon Placement Guide
Find better Build and Kill Zombies weapon positions by checking zombie approach angles, attack coverage, and repeatable car build tests.
FAQ
Where should I put weapons in Build and Kill Zombies?
Start where a weapon has a clear view of the threats you meet most often. Test the position in a wave and adjust it when an approach side stays uncovered.
Does this guide rank weapon damage?
No. It offers a placement test, not unverified damage values or a permanent weapon tier list.
Build and Kill Zombies lets players add weapons to a custom car before fighting zombie waves. The official game description confirms the build-and-fight loop, but it does not publish a complete weapon damage or targeting table. Placement is therefore something to observe in your own runs.
The September 26 Eurogamer code report names a Crossbow and Mounted Gun among the reported PAINTEVERYWHERE rewards. If you have either weapon, record its actual attacks and coverage in the current game. That report does not provide verified range, damage, or targeting rules, and the code may no longer redeem.
Start with one question: what can this weapon reach?
Mount one weapon on a working vehicle. In the next wave, watch the approach direction of the zombies and the weapon’s actual attacks. The most useful evidence is visible: whether the weapon engages, whether the car blocks its view, and whether threats reach an uncovered side.
| What you observe | One change to test |
|---|---|
| The weapon rarely attacks approaching zombies | Move it to a position with a clearer view of that approach. |
| The front is covered but a side is exposed | Test a side-facing position or a second weapon on that side. |
| The weapon works until a nearby part fails | Protect or reposition that part before replacing the weapon. |
| Several weapons overlap on the same targets | Spread their positions and compare the next run. |
These are experiments, not promises about attack range or targeting rules. A new weapon can be powerful on paper and still contribute little if its position does not suit your car.
Compare runs without losing the baseline
Use the same core vehicle for two tests. Record the weapon name, position, the first uncovered direction, and what ended each run. Then change only the placement. If you swap the chassis, weapon, and upgrades together, you will not know which change helped.
The car planner has a role and note for each part. Save one plan for the current setup, copy its share link, and edit the local plan for the next position. You can return to the earlier link if the experiment performs worse.
When to add another weapon
Add one when a repeatable coverage gap remains and your vehicle can still move and survive long enough to use it. If the car fails before weapons engage, the defense guide or car build guide is the better next stop. For purchase decisions after testing, use the cash and upgrade guide.
